Thread: My New cat scratch Just bought on Ebay today

Debbie thats total genius with the use of cat litter for fuel! How beautiful and rustic that wood burner is, I am jealous!! I want one! The only snag is that my house is too small to fit one in... hmmm this has got me thinking!

Nice cat tree and an absolute bargain at that price! You will have a lot of happy snuggly kitties this Christmas, a great present for them!

Nice wood burners... we used to have one ages ago and they do give off a lot of heat indeed.
In our present house we have an open fireplace, which of course looks fab but doesn't really do much for warmth. Worse still, the chimney runs through the centre of the house but when the house was built someone in their endless wisdom decided to insulate it! So the wall of the chimney stays 'nice and cool' (and the upper floors as well) while most of the heat goes straight up into the sky to warm the feet of the birds.

Haha, what a genius! Our chimney breast stays nice and warm, you can feel it in the kitchen and the upstairs landing - vital as we don't have central heating radiators or a gas boiler.

When I had gas Central heating put in the house I had the Chimney done at the same time. Next year some time I will get a wood burner for the house as the chimney runs right up the middle of the house so the hall, office 2 of the bedrooms and the lounge and kitchen will get warmed by this. But for now I wanted one each of the two main cat rooms in the house to keep them warm at night!!

I got it from a German seller name of zz store I am trying now to get another 2 but someone keeps outbidding me lol, so will keep trying!

Thanks thats the idea!! I am hoping to then just put the ashes in the garden and thats it!! less of a mound to move every spring!

Mind it makes good mulch for the garden and keeps the weeds a bay!
