Is My Kitty a Maine Coon
We have always noticed that our kitty "Noodle" is different. She has exceptionally long ear hair and whiskers and a fluffy head, but most unusual is the length of her tail. It is actually a couple inches (at least) longer than any cat we have ever had!! It is super fuzzy, too! She has a 'strange' meow...like she is talking. She is the most friendly cat I have ever had...I think she thinks she is one of the dogs. I don't think she is pure Maine Coon but wanted to know if these were characteristics of a Maine Coon.
I am attaching pics but these were taken when she was just 1 years old. She has since gained about 8 pounds (She is 2 now.)

Nice looking cat. Great tail.
She has the "M" on her forehead, so she's in the club...
Chirpy meowing is a giveaway, too.

Hi hug_amber, your Noodles looks really charming! Adorable little face and very pretty coat.
She sounds like a lot of fun - you're ever so fortunate to have her around. How did you get by her?
As for your question about MC or not, I agree with candes. All semi-longhaired domestics are bound to have some MC-ish traits, but without paperwork there's no telling.

I'm with the others to be honest - the only way truly to know if your cat is a purebred MC is if you have the pedigree papers - or at the very least knew both the sire and dam. She sure is a pretty girl and I've no doubt she brings you heaps of love and joy, but as owner to some rather large moggies with huge long bushy tails, massive ears and weird meows over the years, they can all have some traits or others.
What's most important is that she is a very loved part of the family - and with that tail she can do the dusting and be a useful member of it too

Thanks for the replies! I forgot to mention she also has the extra hair points on her ears.
I knew she wasn't a full blood but just wondered if these were indeed characteristics!
We love her so much and she's such an awesome part of the family!!

I actually think this cat may very well be part Maine Coon as she appears to have many MC characteristics. I think the tail and face look MC like and paws look good and large. Coat does not appear to be long enough in places, but that can depend on time of year and age. It would help to see photos at two years and to see photos from the side of her standing. Are her paws heavily furred underneath? You say she has some lynx tips? (Cannot really tell from these photos.) Soft voice is certainly another characteristic.
As always with these questions, I will recommend that you look at the seminar link on the TICA breed standard page, as it shows photos of proper MC characteristics:
TICA Maine Coon Breed Introduction

I'd say either part maine coon or part siberian.

Hi there, I think she could well be part bred Maine Coon, there are a lot of them out there and she seems to have quite a few characteristics of the breed. the real giveaway is the chirrup noise they make when they talk to you. I think she is lovely and not all pedigree MCs are fantastic representations of the breed either... I had a boy that never had a single tuft where his linx tips should have been (although they were there as a kitten), as he grew up he looked more like a Somali than a MC and yet he had a fantastic pedigree... I was going to keep him! But he did have a superb coat and the most loveing nature, he was sold as a neutered pet, to some one who like grooming!
