Have a poorly kitty on my hands - any advice??

Buddy is poorly :( He went out this morning (I know the risks but posted about it before so not after advice about that) came back his normal 4 hours later and really didn't seem himself. I put food down and he ignored it - not like him at all. He kept trying to hide, behind doors etc. He then came in the kitchen and vomited violently again and again and again. He went in litter box and produced brown smelly water several times and it stinks. Sorry if this is yuk but he threw up cat food undigested. He has real health issues which is why I don't give him processed food so can only assume that when he goes missing his is loving it up with someone else who thinks they are helping. I can't get him to wear a collar, although his feeding problems are on microchip.

He is lying in the kitchen sink at the moment with the cold tap running so he has easy access to water. I've taken away all his food which I find cruel but needs must.

How long do I leave him before I offer food again? And should I offer some steamed chicken / fish or raw??
