I agree it sounds good that Chelsea is standing her ground.

I would also say that cats need to sort out a pecking order although it's not always the way we want it to be. At least if all that Boo is doing is hissing and spitting, there is no real fighting and I would be hopeful that things would eventually resolve themselves - although trying to keep them apart may only aggravate the situation. Not actually being there it's hard to be sure, but the hissing etc. is fairly natural behaviour and cornering either cat to spray water will just add to the stress and anxiety both cats are feeling. I assume Boo is about 5 years or more from what you say - so perhaps she's just being a crabby lady irritated and anxious about a pouncy kitten.

Just let it happen, don't worry

In the beginning our older cat was very agressive against him, he just ignored her. Then t he grow up and now our "oldie" knows where her place is.
Don't project your fear, let him grow up.He will be a stable adult with a certain arrogance and Zen attitude towards the other animals.

When I saw the first time that he wanted to control the sheep I was a little anxious, look at his attitude now.

I have a similar problem, our older (18 months) cat cannot let our 11 month old MC, Lily, be - every opportunity he is tourmenting her, fighting and biting her - keeping them apart is turning into a bit of a nightmare, but we are perservering and hoping Bully Boy Pedro will learn to love her as much as we do
