Nope she is still hiding under the cupboards I've spent last few hours laying on a cold kitchen floor, stroking her, she seems to be purring not that I can hear it, I'm getting worried now as don't know if she has had anything to eat and drink, any advice is very much welcomed

Oh dear... who’d have thought she’d be so shy? Some more tips would be putting some wet food where she can smell and see it (perhaps some nice smelly boiled fish); trying to get her attention with a feather toy; and finally not hovering too much, just go about your business as usual, however hard that will be.
Also, talk to her breeder… she knows her better then you do at the mo.
Well indeed, she certainly wasn't shy before.
I will try putting some wet food near her. Tried with toys but she seems thoroughly uninterested at the moment, I been stroking her for a few minutes then leaving her going into the other room etc.
Have emailed the breeder, seems to think she will be ok, its a big change, lots of new smells and what not, which I can understand its just the whole has she eaten or drank that is niggling at me the most.

I have only had this problem with one of mine & that was the last babe Ruby,she hid up for the first 24 hours & was ready to take her back as she didn't eat & I was convinced she didn't want to be here,put a load of toys into a carrier bag & rustled it around & curiosity got the better of her... I agree with Antonia,having made an attempt to befriend just carry on as normal,music on,talk to her on passing I am sure she will come around its all just been a bit of a shock to her system & being a female she is going to make you work hard to get her attention,it will come....x
Has she used the tray....? Normally only really ill cats will starve themselves,try & take note of the amount of food you put down,even count any bikkies,could you go out of the house for a while as that's when she might feel a bit more secure about coming out & eating,annoying thing is by the sound of her you might have been better off having time off the other end of her arrival you will be pig sick in a couple of days when she is all round you & you have to go off to work,must be quite a change for her coming to a house with no other four legged furries to give her that extra bit of backing either...Quote:

Years ago I adopted this cat who once I brought her home she hid under a cabinet and refused to come out for the entire day no matter what I did. I was so worried. That night she found me and slept in my bed but was back under the cabinet the next day. Once she warmed up she would sit with me but the second anyone else came in the room she would run and hide for the next month or so. Some cats are just funny little buggers.
Well she has moved from under the kitchen cupboards to the shoe rack now.
She hasn't used her litter tray yet which I am a little worried about, but I am sure that will come in time.

Well went to make a drink and found her on the stairs, but something happened outside and spooked her and now she is back under the cupboards and half behind the fridge, go figure lol

Well at least the stairs episode was progress... shame about the noise outside. Just keep telling her what a brave girl she is. :)
