    Matts / Knots in fur.

    Hiya guys,

Sampson has picked up some knots in his fur. A few formed in his tail after falling in the toilet (don't ask lol) which are not too bad to get out as the knots are more on the surface. However, there is a large knot and a medium knot around the base of his tail. The large knot is right down to the skin so it's incredibly hard (and dangerous) to cut it. It hasn't caused any irritation to him and he doesn't seem bothered by it, but it's still not nice to feel!

What would be the best way to get it out? Not sure if cutting half of it would promote the hair to grow away from the skin so I can get to the base of the knot.
