    Independence Day!

We celebrate Independence day on July 4th, picnics, fireworks, the whole shebang. The weather was so nice 87 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny absolutely gorgeous day. What kind of holidays are celebrated in the UK, Scotland, Ireland, and the rest of the world that you would like to share? I bet you all have some great parties!

Oh Happy Independence Day Donna and to all our American friends, hope you have a whizz bang of a time ! You will have to take plenty of pictures and let us share in your celebrations !

I cant think of any celebrations of hand that we have apart from the usual, christmas, hogmanay (that is new years eve) and our village Gala Day which was last Saturday ! We have a local reconstruction of the Battle of Bannockburn in the shadow of Stirling castle, sorry to the English members, but it is lots of fun !!! lol I am sure there are more but just cant think at the moment !! lol

Chris , Thanks for the info, it encouraged me to look up the battle of Bannockburn. Very interesting history! I absolutely love English history as my ancestors on my father's side came from England, 13th Century to current all very fun to read! We have so many festivals in the summer I can not count them all but I love to eat and celebrate!

hey we do, we have the queen's jubilees and birthdays and all the royal weddings and such - always cause for a celebration in the UK isn't it?
in France we have 14th July , Bastille day - fireworks and such also - supposed to celebrate freedom and end of the monarchy even though since then we've had an emperor and a few kings (we didn't cut off their heads we just exiled the last one and had a president instead....)

omg, yes and the birth of Prince William's bebe! That will be a great day in the UK. There will be celebration everywhere! I love, love, love the royals (could be my English blood?) I have read much history of the UK 14th Century through current. I am glad that the be heading has stopped!
