It's probable that Bubba had heart problems when I got him and the vet I took him to for his takehome checkout
was clueless about HCM. I'll stick to cat-only vets from now on. I don't think he was actually abused because he
was a total people kitty but he wasn't very well taken care of. I had to have his belly shaved to get rid of the mats.
He might have been brought in as a stray or feral too. The Nevada desert is a pretty harsh place for cats between
the climate and the coyotes and I think Bubba might have been outside for awhile. After he came home with me
he pretty much refused to have anything to do with that side of the door. If I carried him outside and put him down
he'd immediately jet back to the front door and give the "please let me back inside now, please" look.
Kind of backwards. Most try to scoot out the door...Last edited by claudel; 4th May 2011 at 12:33 PM.
