Catch the Light Laser Pointer. £4.69

Had a few toys arrive today so thought I would post my initial thoughts and relevant feedback from the furry ones
Item No1: Catch the Light Laser Pointer at zooplus

Essentially its a laser pen in a mouse shaped holder. Upon opening the plastic packing I noticed four hard plastic whiskers sticking out the side of the mouses head. These are quite prickly to be honest, and imo.. unneccessary. Its a laser pen, its going to be in my hand and hopefully the cats will be running around like crazy kitties rather than looking at my hand.
Out came the scissors and off went the sharp pointy whiskers. Improved in my opinion.

Laser pointer comes with three watch style batteries and you need to place these in the pen yourself. Nothing complicated there, but the battery compartment feels a little cheap and flimsy so I took care to open it carefully. I couldnt see any indication on which way around the batteries were meant to be inserted so it took me two attempts to get it working.. doh!

You can purchase spare batteries, which I did, for an extra £1.90

Of course, the real test lies in how much the furry ones enjoyed / ignored it.
Within 0.000000000001 of a second of the beam hitting the carpet, all hell broke loose. Both of them chased after it, over sofas, tables, cat tree, steps, under tables, over foot stools and so on. I have NEVER seen Storvenn run so fast in my life! lol!!
Within 10 - 15 mins he was sat on the steps panting away like a little puppy, so we put the laser pointer away and let him take a break. Loki, enjoyed it equally as much if not more. I think this is due to a fitness thing as Loki is always chasing 'ball on a string' whereas Storvenn will just sit n watch a bit.

Testing: Ive tested this in my lunch break and also when I got home this evening. They both attack / chase the light as soon as its on the carpet. I even tried giving them "squeeky mouse" and then introducing the light to see which got their attention. Laser pointer won easily (see video)

Scoring out of 10. I would have to give this a very positive 10. If it can get Storvenn up and running then its well worth the cost.

    **video to come

We brought a laser light this morning - Simba loved it but alas so did one of my dogs and took over - when I turned it off she spent an age looking for it - Simba sat up high watching her - the look he gave her was classic

Lucius goes mental for the laser pointer too, I think it is an essential cat toy! Hours of fun! Thanks for sharing x
