Only other thing I can think of is leaving goop on a long time & washing it off with purple shampoo.

Will try that as well although I won't hold my breath that he doesn't become a black & purple cat instead, that could set a new colour trend in the show world.
I feel a bit sorry for him as he wasn't really bought to be a show cat his brother was but hubby is so proud of him {first time he has ever chosen an animal for himself } that I feel we have to do our best & give him whatever chance we can. There was another black & white boy in the litter & the breeder tried to get hubby to change his mind & have that one as he was a far superior show cat & the new owners of that one don't have the problems that I do,typical,,but we do have the more of a luv bug out of the two b & ws & at the end of the day they are pets firstly & I would rather that & carry on crying at showtime baths.

Well, that's what his main role in your life is after all! I've been lucky with my girl as I didn't intend on showing her but tried it out & she has done very well. She is my baby girl first & foremost & the minute I think she may hate it is when we call it a day.

    Getting white socks white

We have cracked it,now wearing sun glasses if we follow Wellynton Boots down the hall....
Last night dreading having to do his white bits today daughter came up with the idea of using baking soda & white vinegar, she used trusty google & sure enough someone had been there & done it .
This afternoon out came the items, warm water at the ready, baking soda into dish add white vinegar at which point daughter said volcanic eruption about to happen, being dippy I thought she meant the one in Iceland,a very clean kitchen sink later & starting over again, well basic science is a long while ago for me,we had the concoction mixed & ready to go,dipped his paws in it rubbed it all up his boots on his back legs until all his white bits were really wet, then added neat purple shampoo, kept him occupied for 5 minutes to give it all a chance to work, then showered as usual, great results they are gleaming & with a lot less fuss. Will be very proud to take him along to the show this Saturday....
