Well good luck for the 4th... the months soon zip round, I'm already planning my next years shows. Julescoons are good cats, good breeders too but too far away from me as I'm stuck down in Devon, actually its not too bad show wise as we can easily get to eight venues, just gets a bit expensive. I'm off to the TICA show at Taunton on Sunday... I'm pretty nervous about it as I'm a GCCF breeder etc, so I wont have a clue what to do... just get there early and ask I guess

Good luck with that, I'll be interested to see how you find it. It's our very first show on 4th, a GCCF one, and I've no idea how Monty will cope with it, I'm just going to take the plunge. There is a TICA show near me but I was a little put off by the TICA arrangement of moving from pen to pen and having to listen out for your name/number to be called. There was also no vetting-in, (according to a friend of mine who showed there) which seemed wrong to me.

Re. Julescoon cats, their Toby Jug is not mentioned on their website so he must have retired. But I'd love to know how Supreme winner Dexter is related to Toby Jug! just for the reflected glory, of course!

    Supreme Show

Hi Tivicoons, have only shown at Tica once but it was great fun , a friendly bunch of people & normally you are penned beside someone who has been there & done it before. We coped fine with only the one cat but those who took more than that did seem to be running about at a fair pace. Some of the FB shows now provide you with a minder if it is your first time & are worried so perhaps Tica does the same, whatever I am sure you will have a great time, good luck & will look forward to reading how you got on.
I know it is a new thing over here with the no vetting in but I don't really know if that is so bad as long as there was still a vet surgery nearby on call for anything that goes wrong during the day,I would hope that someone still checks vaccination certificates but other than that unless temperatures are taken of every cat you wouldn't know if it was brewing anything,if it had runny eyes, snotty nose, dirty ears etc someone is soon going to report it if it did make it into the show hall, which I doubt,we done a GCCF show years ago & Merl was in his pen & we went off for a cupps as the lady in the next door pen arrived ,when we came back they had disappeared,it had been vetted through but someone walking round noticed its third eyelids were up,got the show manager in who in turn made the decision to get it vet checked again,it had a raging temperature, was really unwell & it turned out the cat had been to its own vet a couple of days previous & was on ab's but it still got through on that day,so even vetting in doesn't always work....
