    New Kitten Not Eating! Help!

    Hello MaineCooners!

We are proud to have 2 new kittens living with our family (Arnie and Sylvester). They're brothers and are 16 weeks old. We only picked them up from their mum a week ago and have been having great fun together! However Arnie has barely been eating... Sylvester is eating perfectly well and has endless energy... His brother is much more subdued. I've heard that it might be the stress of living in a new home that's putting Arnie off his food? Any advice would be much appreciated though! Thankyou so much!

As long as he is eating something, drinking & using his tray then I wouldn't worry too much as yes it could be him adapting to his new home, when we had two babes both together the one that had been the most outgoing, hungriest & into everything went the other way {hubbys kitten} mine which i had been telling everyone was a purrfect pants became the nightmare one, also this heavy weather could be knocking him a bit... Try him on something different as I have also found with some of mine that once here the food the breeder has been giving them suddenly becomes old hat, excuse me we are grown up babes now & don't want that stuff.
Obviously if you are really worried then a quick visit to your vet for some reassurance could be called for but does sound as if for some reason he is taking a bit longer to settle....xxx

Thankyou for your advice! We did take him to the vet and they said everything was ok. Think we'll wait and see if he improves. They are still new in our house! xx
