I know, I know, you're right... I should be ashamed of myself, and have already ordered a new Cat-o-nine-tails from Amazon so I can flay myself for hours on end; it's the only way I can deal with the guilt...
PrimaDonna (no longer PsychoKitty, me thinks) must be laughing her furry a**e off at my expense...!

Tell me about it! We didn't have any talc so I tried the towel instead, along with equal petting and fuss between the two cats. I also tried the previously awesome technique you suggested and told Wicca off in front of Freyja. Went out for dinner Tuesday night, and by the time we came home, things had returned to normal. Wicca was good enough to pretend that she hadn't noticed Freyja had wigged out on her, and Freyja didn't seem to realise that the odd smelling cat and her old mate Wicca were one and the same. They were so chuffed to be creating mischief together again that neither of them remembered to come into our bedroom at 4am and tread on my face. So I even got a lay in...
Hurrah. I'm NEVER getting another cat though, and when Wicca gets her final check up Saturday at the vets I'm going to ask them if I can co-ordinate their annual boosters for the same day to avoid a repeat performance from Prima Psycho. It'll mean Freyja's will be a few months overdue and Wicca's will be a few months early, but that's got to be better than an annual huff from PsychoKitty!!

Weird reaction to Wicca
So pleased everything has calmed down between the girls, surprising how things change when you are out of the way & mischief turns up....!
Sounds a good idea about bringing their vaccs together if you can but if the vet thinks the gap is too big first time round & advices doing it over a couple year period just take the other furry along anyway, wouldn't hurt, same outcome if you just get other cat out & get vet to touch it & put it straight back in with the one that has the jab all should still be fine.
