I really don't think its food related because he can go three months or so without the blow out. I'm very strict with him he only ever gets his RC dry food and 100% chicken breast.
I haven' changed his diet for two years now. I can't pinpoint any precise change to his behavior to even tell when a blow out might be brewing.
Although it does sometimes coincide with him throwing up a hairball.
I haven't as yet had him tested or stool sampled etc because the vet just tells me its cat IBS and i attempt to control it myself.
He is still the same weight, still in prime condition.
Maybe a stool sample is the way forward. As there really is no rhyme or reason to it otherwise.
