    Home, sweet home..

This is just my little story I need to share..

On march 28, my dear Felina somehow managed to get outside and of course she got lost before we noticed her absence.
We went out and looked for her for a while that night and went through the entire neighborhood a few times the next day. But there was no sight of her.
The next few days, we put up 'Missing' posters and talked to some of the kids around here who promised they'd look for her too. The boys downstairs handed out some pictures to their friends to help look.
A whole week went by and we still couldn't find her, I became more and more worried. She had never been outside before like this and it was pouring down. I contacted local Vets and animal shelters, send them descriptions, pictures and her chip ID, no one had seen her but promised to keep an eye out for her.
The next week, it was pouring down both night and day and I got sick. But my wonderful man kept going out in the rain, looking and calling for her.
Some people called and said they had seen her here and there but we still couldn't find her.
Until one day, exactly 3 weeks from the day she disappeared.
I was home alone when my phone rang, a lady had seen a cat matching the description in her garden the last couple of days along with the feral cat she feeds once in a while. She was quite sure it was my Felina, she had just been there but ran away before she could pick her up.
I quickly found a straw(her favorite plaything) and a salmon treat and ran down there. She was nowhere to be seen but I kept looking around.
When I came to the end of the street, walking by some bushes, I heard a very weak "Meaw... Meaw.."
She was sitting right there, between the bushes, looking at me, calling for me. She wasd all dirty, barely white anymore and as soon as she saw the straw, she slowly made her way towards me. I had to pick her up half way.
She was very thin and weak, cuddled up in my arms as we made our way back home.
When we came home, I checked her through to see if she was okay, she was very thin and dirty but otherwise just fine.
She let me bathe her, clean the dirt off, let me blow dry her a bit, brush her tangled fur and through it all, she just kept cuddling and kissing me.
Now we just need a vet check and to gain the lost weight..

I can't even begin to describe how worried I have been, mow much we all missed her and how happy we are that she is home..
I never really knew how deeply I cared for her until this..

I'm so pleased you found her! You must be so relieved!

I had a cat before I left for uni called Molly (well, she was more a family cat but she liked me best!) but my mum became allergic and we needed to rehome her. I came back home and my aunt decided that she would take her. However, my aunt refused to have Molly in her house all the time so she lived in the garage mostly when she wasn't outside. Normally she spent a lot of time outside anyway and I was happier with her going to someone we knew rather than someone random. Molly was the type of cat who rarely warmed to any one.

Anyway she stayed with my aunt for a few days and I went back to uni. Then I got a call to say that they hadn't seen her in three days. I was pretty upset and just hoped that she'd find her way back to either my mum's or aunt's or even that she'd found another safe home. We'd resigned ourselves to her never coming back until almost a month later she came back to my aunt's! She's been there munching on mice ever since It's lovely when they come home!

    Home sweet home

Bless her, what a worry & it sounds as if she wasn't happy being a street cat either,I am sure she will soon be back to looking her normal self as no doubt mum is making sure she is feeding her right back up again. When she looks picture perfect again a photo of her would be nice....x

Stacey - thank you, yes i'm very relieved ^-^
And I'm happy to hear Molly came back home too and enjoy life catching mice..

Harrymc - thank you very much, it really was a 'disney type' ending, she's been cuddling up to me ever since, barely leaving my side.

Fozzie - thank you, it was indeed very worrying. I barely sleps while she was gone because what if she came to the door during the night, calling for me..

jckkerrison - I'm doing my very best to fatten her up again, in a rate her stomach can handle ^-^ I'll post a picture as soon as she'll all well again.

Candes - Yes I'm sure the rain got her more lost, washing away all scent trails but it wasn't very far, thank goodness.. just a few blocks down the street.

Sorry, missed this thread earlier, no idea how.

So firstly, what a nightmare for you. And secondly, what a great ending! All the 'planets in alignment' for you two to find each other at that exact moment - incredible. Looking forward to seeing some pics when she's settled in again

I loved the happy ending on this story - what a desperately worrying time you must have had - so thrilled that you've been reunited with your beloved Felina x
