I have one who has always been very easily distracted when eating & still is coming up to 4yrs of age,I very often end up wandering around with his food dish in my hand waiting for something to catch his attention long enough to be able to set it in front of him again & tell him he is a good boy & would he like to eat a bit more,a kiss or two round his ears & a couple of head butts off of him followed by saying what a clever handsome boy he is does help to get him going again for another couple of mouthfulls then we start all over again,I know for a fact when I can't stay with him his brother goes & eats it before going back to his own...!
Does seem strange that it has coincided with the bedroom ban so he could just be trying it on a bit, also sometimes if they are having a growing spurt or teething they go off their food so could tie in with something like that.
If he seems fit, healthy & growing I wouldn't worry too much,Shimba is weighing in at 10kg at the moment so his hit & miss way of eating hasn't caused him any harm & if you start changing diet too much you could end up with the runny bum syndrome, not nice...x
