Some people may think that a Maine Coon Cat is a big couch potato and they'd be wrong, my Samantha was incredibly athletic.
Besides playing fetch I lived in a apartment where the bathroom was across the hall way from the kitchen and since I live alone I didn't shut the door, this gave Samantha the opportunity to visit and play a game I called mouse ball.
When I was on the porcelain throne she'd bring me a rattle mouse and I'd try to throw it past her, I rarely could, she could go right or left and leap high into the air and either snatch the mouse or bat it in to the air.
It hard to describe but she just glowed with kitty joy when we played.
Samantha could easily leap from the ground onto the top of my 6 foot bookcase without hitting the 8 foot ceiling, she'd uncoil her powerful muscles and spring into the air then land a softly as a feather on top of the bookcase.
From there she would survey her domain.
She like to do laps around the house then leap lightly on the furniture, she was very fond of leaping into my wooden chair.
One day while dusting I decided to play a trick on her and used furniture polish on the seat of the chair, well a short time later she was tearing it up and leaped onto the chair and slid right off the other side.
I was laughing until I saw the hurt look on her precious face, "how could you Papa" she said more clear then words, I realized I was getting amusement at the expense of her kitty dignity, female Maine Coons are very dignified cats and I'd broken trust.
I apologized and she forgave me.
I always afterward kept her feeling in mind when we played, she always got to win because her happiness was my joy.
Sorry I'm getting of topic, can't help it I always felt blessed to be owned my such a wonderful creature.

Just a quick story from the other day. Boris - now 6 months - has a burst of kitten energy at night. I settled down on the lounge with the TV on and my scrambled egg dinner on my lap. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a black and white streak and before I could utter a sound - SPLAT - he belly flopped on to my scrambled eggs which parted like the red sea. Off he went with scrambled egg on his lovely white tummy and no dinner for me!!!!!!
