Beutifull handsome 10month old red coon Arnie has pushed his way out the outdoor cats flap, it's a new door that was
Meant to keep the main coons in, we have 3, and the 2 moggies with special discs could get out, but during last night I realized arnie wasn't asleep with me. And to my horror he's got out and were frantic! We've posted leaflets all around our area and notified his microchip company and local vets and RSPCA, and I'm frantic now he's a huge softy who loves everyone and hasn't been out any further than their garden run on his own, any tips much appreciated. Thanks lynLast edited by Lyndag; 26th June 2011 at 02:40 AM.

I can't imagine what you are going through right now :(
You have pretty much done everything I would do in the same situation. Have you been around all the neighbours to ask if he's got himself shut in a shed/garage?

Thank you for all your support and tips, we still haven't found him, but we have now had 4 possible sightings ! We been out nearly all night rattling dishes and calling him, but now we've narrowed it down to close by we are re delivering more leaflets telling people he's been spotted and asking them to look again, he's only 10 months old but weighs nearly 7kg and has a huge bushy tail so he can't be missed! I'm so worried he's hungry and his brother is pineing for him, lyn

Praying for good news soon.
I know how devastating it is to be missing a furry child.

Oh you poor thing what an awful situation to be in, I would nearly lay a bet on him not being too far away, the odd time my first couple managed to make it to the wrong side of the house they stuck really close to home & also when a friends escaped we spent hours going round in the dark calling him spreading the circle wider & wider & were just about to give up but as a last ditch effort swung the torch round the neighbours garden again & there he sat on the draincover looking bewildered & wondering what all the fuss was about.I would go along with Mick B's suggestion, hit all the neighbours, print off a load of leaflets with his picture on & mail drop them into as many peoples letterboxes as you possibly can, fingers crossed that you can soon post that he is home safely with you...x

Go out in the evening when it's quiet and walk around the area and call for him.
When Meme lived at the warehouse where I worked she got shut out one night when I wasn't there to look after her.
I posted the area and came back in the evening and called for her, I heard her faint squeaky Meow coming form the bushes across the street from my warehouse.
I went over there calling for her and she eventually came out very glad to see her Papa, I took her back to our warehouse fed her and spent some time with her.
Shortly afterward at Christmas time I took her home to live with me even though my apartments didn't allow pets.
Spent the remainder of her life living with me as my outlaw kitty.

Google Animal Search UK (sorry can't post links from android *nudges Dave*) They have volunteers who look out for pets all over the country. Ring your local radio station and ask them to put an announcement out, ours has a petline and puts messages about lost pets out after the news. If you can shut your other coonies away and unlock cat flap as he may find his way home under cover of darkness, maybe leave a little food and something of yours with your smell on outside so puss can find it and know is safe. Lots of door knocking, posters on lamp posts etc. Please keep us posted and fingers crossed for safe return x
