Call the police. Please. They need to know and they may be able to identify the culprits immediately.

Very happy you (and Buddy) have been so lucky. x

So glad Buddy is safe and well. I lost one of my girls 2 years ago ( I believe to theives..!) It's such a sad thing to happen as you never know what's happened to them. I always hope that she had been stolen to go and live with someone who wanted her soo badly and i pray that she's lording it up on someones warm radiator being fed chicken and all the treats she could possibly want.. :( xx

OMG Catslave, what a horrible shock for you and Buddy. Very fortunate that you woke up. I hope Buddy gave them a good slashing as he got away. Do call the police about this.

It might be as well to keep Buddy indoors at night, or whenever you are not around.
Hugs to you and Buddy. Hope he's OK. I'm sure he'll be getting lots of tlc to help him recover. x

I was about to write the same thing, maybe you should try keeping him indoors at night from now on?

OMG, these days nothing is safe, thank the lord you woke and investigated, I agree about phoning the police.
I once had a pair of Russian Blues (brother and sister) both neutered, they used to go in my back garden ,then one day there was only the girl she was so distressed but wouldn't let anyone pick her up, 2 mnths later there was an advert in our local paper, someone had found a male cat, I rang it was Smirnoff, the distance was to far for him to have covered and his pads were in ok condition. Our vet thought someone had thought the cats were a breeding pair and tried to grab both of them. After this incident the female cat would not go out in the garden and Smirnoff was so frightened he got out one day never to be seen again.

What a dreadful nightmare! And such a relief you could chase them off before they took your poor frightened Buddy.

I recently heard about a lady in Holland who used to leave her cats (Persians, I believe) in the outside run at night. One morning she woke up, the wire mesh had been cut and the cats were gone.

So, better only let them in the run when you can keep on eye on them. And tell the police about it, of course.

Oh Karen, is Buddy ok? I hope he clawed the hell out of the little s*#ts!!!
After yesterdays adventure I have not let Hector and Roxy mooch about outside as they have been doing, it worrys me as we are not far from the A34 and they are so different from the cats you see out and about that someone may try to 'claim' them (they would bring Hector back sharpish when they discovered what a dustbin he is though lol)!

But they do get 'talked' to through the window by passers by...........little girls really seem to love them! It does worry me that there are some people about that would try to steal other peoples cats!

Big hugs to you and Buddy it must have been horrible when you realised what had been going on xxx
