What size will my coons get. 12 month weight chart.

Over the last year I have been monitoring my cats weight since I got them at the age of 12 weeks. I’m going monitor my cats weigh over the next few years to see what sort of results they will produce and hopefully someone with a lot of breading experience could give me a good estimation on what size they will eventually turn out be?

I’m hoping that other people could use my data also to estimate how their Maine Coons will maybe turn out? I intend in monitoring my cats weight up to 5 years to see what results I could publish and maybe give the first/proper in-depth growth chart of 5 years for Maine Coons?

My cats where from a litter of 4 and Sydney was the biggest out of the litter and Sheldon was the smallest.

At 3 weeks and 5 days old, Sydney was 0.95kg/2.1lb.
At 6 weeks and 3 days old, he was 1.52kg/ 3.3lb and gained 0.57kg/1.3lbs.
    At 16 weeks/4 months old he was 2.70 kg/ 5.9lb and gained 0.9kg/2lbs.
    At 20 weeks/5 months old he was 3.60 kg/7.9lb and gained 1kg/2.2lbs.
    At 24 weeks/6 months old he was 4.35 kg/9.6lb, and gained 0.75kg/1.75lbs.

At 30 weeks/7 month and 2 weeks old I got him neutered and he was 5.05 kg/11.1lb and gained 0.7kg/1.5lb.
At 32 Weeks/8 months old he was 5.15kg/11.3lb and gained 0.1kg/0.2lbs.
    At 36 Weeks/9 months & 1 week old he was 5.8 kg /12.8 lbs and gained 0.65kg/1.4lbs.
    At 40 Weeks/10 months & 1 week old he was 6.1 kg/13.4 lbs and gained 0.3kg/0.7lbs.
At 44 weeks/11 months old he was 6.55kg/14.4lbs, and gained 0.45kg/1lbs
and at 52 weeks/12 months he was /6.5kg/14.3.lbs and lost 0.05kg/0.1lbs.

    (Illness period 14/January/2012)
At 60 weeks and 2 days/14 months he was 6.35kg/14lb and lost 0.15gk/0.3lb.

When I first got Sheldon, he was very small for a coon and was easily the smallest of the litter and now he has surpassed his brother.

At 3 weeks 5 days old, Sheldon was 0.75kg/1.75lbs.
At 6 weeks and 3 days old, he was 0.95kg/ 2.1lb, and gained 0.1kg/0.21lbs.
    AT16 weeks/4 months old he was 2.40 kg/ 5.3lb and gained 1.44kg/3.2lbs.
    At 20 weeks/5 months old he was 3.60 kg/ 7.9lb and gained 1.2kg/2.6lbs.
    At 24 weeks/6 Months old he was 4.65 kg/ 10.2lb and gained 1.05kg/2.3lbs

At 30 weeks/7 Month and 2 weeks old I got him neutered and he was 5.40 kg/11.9lb and gained 0.75kg/1.75lb
At 32 weeks/8 months old he was 5.50kg/12.1lb and gained 0.1kg/0.2lbs.
    At 36 Weeks/9 months & 1 week old he was 6.2 kg/13.6 lbs, and gained 0.7kg/1.5lbs.
    At 40 Weeks/10 months & 1 week old he was 6.65 kg/14.6 lbs and gained 0.45kg/1lbs
    At 44 weeks/11 months old he was 7kg /15.4lbs and gained 0.32kg/0.8lbs.
    At 52 weeks/12 months old he was 7.15kg/15.7lbs, and gained 0.15kg/ 0.3lbs

    (Illness period 14/January/2012)
    At 60 weeks and 2 days/14 months he was 6.95kg/15.3lb, lost 0.20gk/0.4lb

Both of my coons have lost weight recently due to some sort of illness. Over the last week/10 days or so, they have not been eating, and they have been sick and had diarrhea. I feed them raw eggs (just the yoke) and sometimes raw chicken. I also feed them ham every few days and they have a tuna meal every day. I think that they might have had some sort of poisoning from maybe the raw chicken and eggs?

Took them to the vets and the vet gave them an injection each with some sort of paste that I inject into there mouth every day until it’s finished. I don’t know how much weight they have put on when the last time I got them weighed (12/November/2011) or how much they have lost due to their illness (around (08-14/January/2012).

That’s them eating a lot better and now seem to be recovering since I took them to the vet 14/January/2011. I think it’s almost certain that they will put back on the weight that they have lost but, how much they will put back on and lost in the first place remains to be seen?

The last time I got both of them weighed before their illness was (12/Novemeber/2011). Before their illness, Sydney was really lean but not skinny or underweight. For a coon, he has still to put on more thickness I think but, how much more all depends on his genetics?

Sheldon meanwhile took over took his brother around mid April and now is getting big. He’s very thick and sometimes doesn’t make it up on the counter when he jumps up because of his size. Sheldon’s mame is very and more distinctive than his brother Sydney. He is also longer haired than his brother.

Sydney has more denser tipped ears and has the longer and slightly bushier tail. I think if Sydney matures later on, he could maybe catch up on his brother but, I think it’s a case of wait and see? I’m mot going to lie, I want really big Maine Coon’s and I would love 20lb + Coons.

The next time I intend in getting them weighed will be around 18 months (May) when I have to take them to the vets for there boosters and to get them wormed, so it will be interesting to see how much weight they’ve put on?

I’m hoping that Sheldon will be around minimum 17lb maybe over 18lb by 18 months old. If so then I think I’ll get my 20 pounder Coon. As for Sydney it all depends on when he will start to put on his maturity size. If he puts on the same thickness than Sheldon then, I think he will catch up with Sheldon. I’ll be happy if Sydney around the 16lb mark at 18 months?

I’m estimating that Sydney will get to the high teens-ish when fully grown and Sheldon will get to the low 20’s if both get into the 20’s and one of them into the mid 20’s then I’ll be delighted. I intend in updating this around May time for their 18 month status?

I don’t know if their recent Illness will have an effect on their weight when I take them to the vets at 18 month, I’ll just have to wait and see? I have a chart in my pictures folder shown their growth rate.

If anyone would like to give me any feed back in how they think my Coons with turn out, please feel free to leave a wee comment or some feed back.

    Thanks.

    David
