Red face New Soon to be Mainecoon Owner

Hi everyone - I'm hoping to soon own a lovely mainecoon female around 6 years old. The cat is up for adoption and I have never owned a Mainecoon before.

Please can you give me as much advice as possible regards how they differ from normal cats - eg. diet, exercise, grooming and generally keeping them happy.

I'm seeing the cat this evening and will hopefully post some pics if I decide to home her over the next week.

    Hey there

Welcome and massive congrats on your new arrival!

I'm sure some of the experienced Maine Coon slaves will be able to give you some detailed info on the advice you are looking for.

I have only had my Maine Coons for 6 months now and they are the most amazing wee fur babies ever. So much character and they love cuddles

I'm sure as soon as you meet her you will have no doubts about Maine Coons...

... I will warn you however, they are addictive! :D

Good luck for your visit tonight & if you both hit it off just try & find out as many of her likes/dislikes traits to help you both bond together as quickly as possible,we rehomed an adult girl & I can't say it was plain sailing from the start but never regretted it & she ended up being the biggest luv bug we could have ever wished for,it was her that gave us MC addiction...
How do they differ, where do you start, food again is your choice & prefference but she might make your mind up for you although I don't feed mine much dry, exercise you will find girls tend to be busy busy busy anyway but they do love ball chase or a laser light will get them going.
Just chuck your queries out as they arrive & we will all jump on to help as much as we can...x
