As Brims above me said, introduce any change in diet gradually over the course of a week or so as to avoid upset tummies.

    Exactly what I would have said, you got there first Mick.

    With regard to the water question, I have fountains that I fill either from the tap or with filtered water, depending on how I feel, and the cats don't seem to mind either. Strangely when outside, they will drink from the muddiest puddle they can find.
