Do Housecats and Big Cats trap their prey the same?

    I think so.

Spencer II will sometimes play fight with my hand, and I'll go along with it. He will curl around it so he can use all four limbs. In the video below, the lion curls all fours about a hynea at 3:47 - so you can cut to the chase.

While my mind favors the existence of all wildlife animals, I enjoyed this queen hynea getting her just rewards for rubbing it in to the lion pride.

I know killing goes on, and it is the circle of life, but I hate watching it so sorry cant watch the video, but all cats kill in different ways, the lion in packs, the cheetah alone and gorging, as does the leopard and hiding his kill up a tree. I think domesticated cats can kill alone or if there are a few in the household together. But I have seen my own moggie play with something before killing it, or rather before I can get to it !!

I am with Chris on this one,I can not watch the lions kill. I have noticed with my house cats that the females are more likely to catch mice than my males cats were, I don't know if this is true with all male cats or just big pampered ones? Ginger likes to tear mom up but licks daddy like he is made of catnip so nice and sweet she is to him.

I have two girls that catch flies and then stomp on them with their back feet until nothing is left. They do this with small balls too.
Others just grab at things and swat it or throw it in the air just to make it move again. Guess it is a personal preference but I do know that when one Coonie is interested in something several others have to have a nose at what's going on! They hate to miss out on anything.

That jpg link was not Spencer II, but that cat had a posture a lot like him. Spencer is more curled, kicking with his legs and holding my hand with his forepaws and teeth. He licks me after he cools off.
