Well Bathtub D-Day is over with!!

Well what a fun day me and my 2 boys have had today lol

So I have been wanting to get the boys used to having baths and today was the day to start, now I did want to take this slowly and just let them have a paddle in the bath but they were honking a bit and so I did the whole hog and washed them eeek!!

Shadow knew something was up as soon as we went in the bathroom and didn't want to let me go, but I put him in and he was ok with the half inch of water in the bath but was really not amused at all when I went and poured water over him!! He was very vocal too about not being happy, but apart from trying to climb me to get out of the bath (OOWWW!!) it wasn't too bad. Used some neutral shampoo and then gave him a good drying off with a towel and then put him in the warm lounge. He was shaking and was not a happy man I can tell you!!

Kahn was fine with me putting him in the water too but again tried climbing me when I started to pour the water on, he didn't struggle as much as Shadow and didn't say a thing but he did shake a lot poor baby. Really wasn't nice seeing them shaking but I knew they needed the wash. I left them in their climbing center and let them lick themselves and calm down oh and gave them some dreamies, but they they were fine with me stroking them etc and they have eaten dinner so I am happy they are fine.

So next time I am going to let them just have a paddle and then they can come out.

My 24lb ginger tabby HATES baths. I badly underestimated his strength the first time I gave him a bath and he thrashed like an alligator and tore up my arm. Then he started thrashing more and slammed his face into the tub, leaving a huge cut on his lip. Sampson goes outside and needs bathed more often than the others...He's gotten better over time though. He is afraid of the dryer and the one time I tried drying him he escaped to the basement and took a big poo on the floor :( My two Coonies seem to enjoy their baths, and Bengal Brat keeps herself pristine and never needs one ( with her razor sharp claws this is a good thing!)

Neevie didn't like any of it per se, but I think given time she could get used to it - she didn't slash and trash like an aligator, she just meekly tried to come out like "may be I'll get out now... no? ok how about now?..." even when I poured water over her - but I avoided her face, I have to say...

Just curious: how do the MCs and bengal get on together? Does the fur often go flying?

I usually trim their nails before bath time- makes a big difference!

Rose (Bengal mix) is small and was probably the runt of her litter. She rules the house and nothing or no one gets in her way. She growls like a lion when I trim her claws and frequently swats and bites people that attempt to hold her. Rose and Mandy are best buddies and in general Rose gets along well with other cats and even my mom's Shih Tzu. She recently warmed up to Sampson and is teaching him how to play fight. But it's only because Sampson is a wuss and allows Rose to groom him, which is a sign of dominance and not affection. She also grooms Mandy and any human that sits still long enough. She's also a "nurse kitty" and will become very protective of the kids when they are upset or when someone is sick. She is high energy and loves to play, so your best bet is agreeing to wrestle and play tag! Rose does not like Merlin yet and if he approaches her she will hiss and swat. She spends most of her day on the highest perch of the cat tree, peering down disdainfully at her subjects LOL! A friend of mine has a purebred Bengal and a purebred Savannah. I had to share a room with them when I visited over a weekend and had to pray I'd wake up in one piece!! Their Bengal is kinda scary, and I think she would not do well with a gentle MC. The Savannah is a total baby doll and I love her to pieces-I joke that I'm going to catnap her lol!!
