How did you measure him - how did you keep him still long enough to do any measuring???

he was curled up on the floor going to sleep so I got a measuring tape (sewing one) and started fromt he tip of his nose and placed from there over his head and down his back to the tip of his tail trying to not let him get hold of it.... lol
It was in now way accurate, but gives me an idea....
