    Darcy is getting shaved

Well thanks to a family member bringing a puppy with fleas to show us. We ended up with a HORRIBLE flea infestation. We got it under control and finally got rid of them. But the damage had been done. Darcy's coat was SOOOOOO matted and no amount of grooming could get it under control.

SO Darcy is at the groomers. They are going to give her their normal lion cut package which is a shampoo, shave (save tail tuft and scruff up) and then shampoo her again and blow dry.

    She's going to hate me

Wouldn't want that job I couldn't imagine simba letting anyone shave him. The other day though he came in from the field covered from head to toe in those little sticky grass balls - there was no way they would just comb out and although Simba was trying his hardest to pull them out himself I think it would have taken him days. I laid him on his back on my lap in the garden and my daughter and I spent about an hour with short rest periods detangling and pulling each little ball out. He was very good and although his tail was wagging and he made the odd complaint once I told him to stay still he did. After we finished though he looked like he hated me and wouldn't come to me when I called him - think he has forgiven me now though

Yeah lol Darcy will probably sulk for a few days, but she will feel better. We've had a crazy heat wave so she'll better inside the house with no fur and probably not having the mats will feel better.

I've got an album in my user gallery all ready for photos of her with her new cut LOL

Aww bless her, just don't let her look in a mirror ! It seems drastic but I am sure if she's more comfortable now then it will be worth it.

As for the look, I know what you mean lol x

Oh dear poor Darcy, what a shame. Hope it all grows back soon but at least she is more comfortable now. Must be a nightmare getting rid of fleas with long haired animals.
