Help with 8 month old temper tantrum problems
My 8 month old kitten, Charles, is generally very well behaved and listens well, but when something upsets him like my kids are away, or its stormy, or he can't outside when he wants to, he becomes destructive. He runs around the house looking for things to knock over or scratch, and a spray bottle (our usually disciplinary method) or distracting him with play or cuddles does not work. So far, he's broken a computer monitor and a guitar with his tantrums, and nearly broken another monitor, big screen tv, as well as put holes in furniture.
This has been going on for about three months, and we're hoping he'd out-grow it because he so obedient other-wise and my kids just love him. But, he's getting bigger and having about one tantrum a week and we can afford to have him wreck anything else.
I don't know if this this common for Maine Coons, I've only had crosses before. Any ideas?
