I think that it's more important to watch his health, levels of activity and "chunkiness" rather than an absolute number on a scale. Look at me, 21st and fabulous
OK, I could lose 3st maybe...

Merly says don't worry Buddy if you need to go on a diet just come over here & join him....
You would know if he was overweight catslave, same as us it goes on in places it shouldn't ,Merl looks fine at 10kg any heavier & his tum balloons out & he waddles,he has just been down to the cattery & Auntie G felt sorry for him & let him have biscuit ad lib by Tuesday she was in panic mode,he had trouble rolling over to have his floor polishing twizzles by Uncle R so it was back to meat with his daily bikkie allowence only & fingers crossed he would have a better figure back by the time we collected him, didn't quite work but....!

Thank you all.
Poor Merly I have to admit to giggling at the mental picture (sorry babe). Buddy looks about right now; he hasn't got a big belly, the weight seems to have gone on evenly. He has little fat in his diet and his meals are always finished in one go. He doesn't have biscuits or kibble left down. His big downfall is cheese, and his bigger downfall is cheese Dreamies. He doesn't seem to have grasped that these are treats and he should only have a couple - he will get the bag out of the cupboard and eat the whole lot in one go.
I did check with the vet about his weight and he said not to worry for as long as he was healthy. He was checked over and given a clean bill of health; although the Vet did say that even he would put on weight if he were on Buddy's diet.
