Do Maine Coon cats tend to snore, and if so more than other cats??

I just wondered if MCs are known to have a pronounced snore. My ten month old almost sounds like a sleeping child who snores when he's asleep and by contrast my moggie barely, if ever makes a sound. I hope it is a harmless quirk and nothing to be concerned about. He seems to be quite peaceful so don't think the snoring is affecting his sleeping. Just wondered if anyone else's MCs' snore? xx

Our 2 boys "snore" and the one can be so loud we can sometimes hear him downstairs!!
The 3 girls do not seem to snore, so perhaps it's a male thing?

Yep - they do! Out of my four boys - two do, two don't. I find it quite endearing

The otherwise very ladylike Tatja can snore... ever so softly, but quite charmingly.

Kenny snores very gently, my ginger moggie has a very loud "grunty" snore which I find quite cute.

I asked this same question months ago as Buddy snores for England, he's worse than my ex husband and can be heard from the other bedroom.

Glad to see we are not alone here. I was convinced Kitten had a nasal or breathing disorder. It's really quite eerie to here the sound though - if I didn't know I'd think it was coming from a human.

Poif seems to do a bit of a whistle through her nose. I was worried she had something wrong but vet said it was fine... Ffion is a silent breather
