We had this with our 10 year old persian, she wasn't eating or drinking, took her to vets, they kept her in and did bloods and put her on a drip, checked her teeth etc. No idea what it was, they sent her home so she could be in a more happy environment, lo and behold the next day her bottom tooth fell out, she started drinking again and now eats like a horse- only wet food though- she never went back to dry food.
Not sure how the vets missed the bad tooth..
Hope you get it sorted, 15 is a good age!
(On a side note, when she had not eaten for a week, we thought she was going to leave us, so we started talking about getting another cat- an MC, if she did go, anyway, the other cat got better but we still took plunge and went on a MC kitten hunt, a month later we were picking Lily up)
