    Growth Spurts

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced their kittens getting really long and lanky before filling out during a growth spurt. Monty has entered one hell of a long and lanky stage - he's a proper gangly 'teenager' at the moment - and I'm hoping that he'll bulk out to fill his frame soon! Any similar experiences???

    experience is here..surely..
mine was also like this for 3 months..btn childhood and adulthood..he became so long n even started losing his fabulous coat..

n i was wondered , if he is losing the gorgeous look..

but after some days i noticed that the jumpy walking n n hiding n attacking of my"kitten" changed to a matured walking!
he started to walk slowly with solid steps like a small lion..
    n his chin developed more..
face changed from a boy to man..
atlast, the body became bulk , though he reduced the intake of food..
    n the coat was replaced..
when my friend came bk after vaccation (3 months)n asked for my "Prince"..he yelled to see the "King"
he told "omg..he has grown up n has become more handsome"
it is a golden moment in my memories about my sweetheart, though he is missing now..

so don worry..the "teen" is going to become an adult n beware they Queens will be adored from now..sometimes he will behave more politely to the Queen than to us..ha ha..that is an adult male..

Yep been there & chances are he will fill out & then somewhere down the line have another lanky spurt, sometimes during the growing period they stop eating as well too then suddenly you can't put enough in the dish for them, all part of some of the MC's growing up,my new little girl is the only one of mine {up to now....!} who has just seemed to have grown in body as well as length & haven't really noticed a sudden "spurt" which seems really strange as I love it when they go all arms & legs & then mature into their new body,so don't worry Monty won't stay at the boy on the street corner stage for ever although you just might have one of those that is a big lean machine ....x

I didn't believe that MCs really could keep growing after the initially rapid kitten growth, but they do. My 19 month old stalled for ages, didn't eat much like Jackie said and then suddenly is eating everything in sight, and seeks me out if his bowl is empty. Can see now that he's definitely growing again. Beginning to look like a real lynx!

I think it is safe to say that all MCs are different

I kept weekly records of my two kittens weights (which are on one of my threads) and they do definately have growth spurts from time to time. Despite being brothers from the same litter they have grown in completely different manners and that is with the same food and treatment.

Silver has always had huge paws and grew at an alarming rate and was huge even for an MC up to about 6 or 7 months. Then he suddenly stopped for about a month . This was despite the fact that he seemed to eat the same amount all the time. He has now started to grow again but much slower . Funnily enough whilst he wasnt getting bigger he began to change his cute kitten looks to the fabled MC lion look.
He also had a period of growing longer that if I hadnt seen myself I would not have beleived . He seemed to get longer on a daily basis then that stopped just as suddenly as it started.
He is now about 7.5 kg at 10 months and looks like a small lion .

His brother Nero is about a kg lighter but has grown steadily all the time and hasnt had a growing longer phase. And he eats the same food and more of it. He hast got the "lion look" at all but I am sure that will happen , eventually.
