I used to have a cat 'Indie' and he used to suck my hair, ears and clothing, kneading and purring at the same time. Some people think that cats that do this were taken away from their mothers too early but my MC boy 'Mist' has an obsession with my Mongolian fur cushions and loves to suck and knead them and he was with his mother longer than most kittens. I agree with Rachel-C and I also think its a sign of a contented. Can understand might be a little annoying in the middle of the night but I think it's quite sweet otherwise.

Whiskey purrs & kneads my head between 3am-4am. He never misses a morning. I get the head massage with some acupuncture thrown in. That's when I know his nails need trimming
