    Need some help/advice.

We got our maine coon cat shaved about 6 weeks ago and ever since one of our other cats has been picking on her. They used to get on great before hand and had np when she was shaved previousley. Our maine cook won't leave the bedroom pretty much and just hisses and snarls when the other cat comes into the room. Our 3rd cat is causing no trouble at all. So i ws thinking would it work to go shave the bully cat to see if it would calm her down some. They are al indoor cats. Really appreciate any help or advice as it's driving us nuts.

p.s We have tried the vanilla scent on both cats to no avail and we have played with them altogether in the same room with no trouble. They have all 3 slept on the same bed at the same time. It just happens out of the blue about 2-3 times a day.

I have 3 indoor cats too and alliances do shift about. Having said that, the smallest one tends to end up being chased most often - sometimes she seems to encourage it and sometimes I think the others go too far.

When we're having a spell of Sophie being the undercat I have a strategy that seems to work for us - for a while anyway. when they're having their wet food, I feed Sophie first and sit with her for a minute or two - fending the others off while she eats. She seems to welcome this and the others back off once they get the idea. I also greet her and make a big fuss of her when I go into a room before I even acknowledge the other two.

After a few days of this her status seems to go up and the others are more respectful. I have to admit I first saw this approach on the Dog Whisperer and it may not work for all cats but it's maybe worth a try.

I could have written what Wivelspiker has written. I think we might be related at least distantly through MCs
