Is there a safe spray to deter chewing

Ronnie constanly chews wires we have hid most but the likes of behind the tv we can do nothing about so just wondering is there some type of spray we could spray onto the wires to deter ronnie from liking to chew wires i was thinking dab a bit of albas oil on them but not sure its safe for him

I have heard of people who rub the cables with menthol or peppermint oil to deter the kitties. But I'm not sure if it works... it will make the room smell nice though. ;)
Or perhaps a stern telling-off - "Hey! No!" - followed by picking him up and putting him away from the cables.

I've read that you can use that split loom tubing over the cables. It's big so they don't want to put it in their mouth, at least I think that's the theory.

In theory yes, in practice, its a really good game for them. We had the same problem with Darcie-lu. All our cables are now safely inside conduit(trunking) if able to fit to a wall, & if not, the plastic central heating pipe covers work really well( they still get an occasional chew but are much safer)
