    Toy safety question

We discovered today that 12" zip ties are very attractive to kitties, as they were batting at them when they got near the ones we were using.
So the question I have is: Are nylon zip ties safe to tie up to a scratching post so the loose end hangs out for kitties to play with?

Ours love to play with zip ties too. The only thing that worries me is the sharp pointy ends - you might want to cut them off to make them blunt.

Cutting zip ties tends to give them nice sharp points, you can try a fine file to get rid of any sharp edges. A small diamond file works well on plastic, my dad has some diamond nail files that work great.
