Neevie crisis - held at ransom by a Pirate!

Hi everyone - the big day is coming, we're leaving tomorrow for 3 weeks. And that's where we hit a wall.

As you may remember, we had planned to leave Neevie in a very nice cattery. We brought her this morning, I thought to go and see how she's settled aroung 5PM - at 4 I got a call from the owner, Neevie wasn't settling - I said what do you mean not settling? he said "hang on, I'll get close to her" and I heard my baby yowl like someone was stepping on her tail (but continuously)
So we went to see what we could do - turns out she was upsetting all the other cats so the owner said he couldn't keep her in - he however offered to come to our place every day to feed her - it took us 15 minutes to get into the pen and finally get her in her box, to bring her back home. She was proper scary!
Another hour and a half to calm her down enough so she would sit with us at home. She kept attacking our feet - seemed to only feel safe if we were sitting down.
The cattery owner needed to see where we live and what he should give her - so he came in - as soon as he was at the door she started screaming again. But then he entered and appeared not too bothered and she started just smelling him and brushing against him while he didn't move and didn't look at her, just kept talking to us. After a while, I moved (my feet) and that's when she really went for them. Since then, every move we make she's yowling and attacking again.
Anyway - long story short, it is now 10PM and she is at last sleeping peacefully on my legs while I write this* - only took 6 hours to get there, not able to really move for fear of setting her off again, while we really needed to pack our bags. And the option to lock her in another room gets her even more upset, to the point where she even threw up...

She has had a strong reaction to the spaying - she was in season when she got spayed and now her hormones are all over, he body thinks she's had kittens and she's even making milk. So I expected her to be a bit territorial - not that badly though...
And she got separated from her dam at birth and was raised by hand....
I guess both together => crisis.

Before, I was concerned - now I am really worried! We've made arrangements so she'll get fed at home... the guy from the cattery seems to be quite confident that he can handle her but.... If that doesn't go well I'll have to come back early.

Why the feet? she's always had a foot thing but that's ridiculous (and painful, she bites hard)
I am worried she might really get herself sick...
Are we doing something wrong by catering to her tantrum? She looks truely wound up and scared...
    * my husband decided to go have a cup of tea just now... that set her off again... We're ok while we're sitting down calmly, but as soon as we get up the feet get it...

He's thinking to try a spray with water in it to spray her with it if she misbehaves again tomorrow - I'm worried it might make things worse but what else can we do?

I'm really regretting chickening out and not getting that Kalm Aid on time for the trip, now.

We've left 1 week ago, and the people who take care of her at home report that she's still the same: nutty, mental, crazy....
The guy from the cattery comes to feed her twice a day, and he says she's starting to calm down with him. I wonder if he's saying this to keep me happy because my friend comes once every two days or so and she says she cannot walk in the house, she gets attacked as soon as she makes a step. She has to sit still and cuddle, like we did the night we had to bring her back from the cattery.

My friend originally thought I was exagerating when I told her what happened... then she saw and changed her mind. Makes me feel a bit less crazy, I have to admit.

The Feliway I ordered from Amazon arrived today so my friend plugged it - obviously it takes longer to work, so we'll have to wait to see if it has any effect.

Anyone had any such experience? Please tell me it gets better! I'm really worried my little pirate will stay so .... "arrrgh" forever!
