Have a 3 yr old MC, and looking at non MC kitten question

I have read up about how to introduce a new cat to an existing cat home.

I have a 3 year old MC, I have had since she was about 16 weeks, from a breeder. Lived alone with her for all that time, we have a good bond, she is an indoor cat, while she is not as loving as other MC's she will prefer to sit on the arm of the sofa rather on me, but she is always with in arms reach.

The local RSPCA place has just got in a beautiful ginger ball of fur, and me and the gf are tempted to adopt her, however my main concern is not so much how Rommy will react to another cat, I dare say she will get grumpy, but more worried about it effecting the bond between me and my MC.

Has anyone gone through similar? Has it effected the relationship with your MC?

    Thanks

I'm sure each case is different, but my experience has been that the bond suffered only briefly. After we got a second cat, the first became a bit aloof; the newbie wanted all of our attention, and Oliver responded by backing away and letting her have her way. I felt really bad. After about a month or two things balanced out, and my bond with Oliver went back to normal.

Thanks for the advice, I went ahead and got the rescue kitten, so far all things seem good, they were play fighting this morning, now both having a nap.

Been making sure that Rommy gets fuss as well, so she seems to be happy as well

    Thanks for the advice
