    Winter coat?

We're heading into winter here down south, and I wondered if Gryfn would be getting a winter coat this year or shouldn't I expect a glorious coat and mane until next winter????

That's an interesting one, truth is I haven't got a clue, but I am sure someone on here will. I know Poppy my moggie although she is shorthaired and jet black as soon as summer starts has a real brown tinge to her fur, especially in the sunlight

I got Sarah in winter when she was 6 months old and she had a short coat and at about 10 months ( at the start of summer) the long coat kicked in as you can see from the recent photos of her. She has been losing hair at a great rate of knots but so far is still long so I think it may sort itself out in the second year.

Here are some photos showing the difference - sometimes she looks fluffier that others but you can see the difference

Sarah at 7 months in September and then at 11 months in January

    Winter Coat

I took my silver boy to a show midsummer a couple of years ago & amused everyone as he had the most fantastic thick winter coat on him that you could imagine,at the moment with the two "babe" brothers one has a really thick coat & is shedding a lot of the undercoat but the other ones coat is pretty fine & loosing nothing, they honestly all seem to differ, our red & white boy for seven years has had nothing but the same full silky coat with a smashing tail & ruff, the number of times I have wished I could transplant his ruff & tail onto one of the show cats who have shed theirs....always at the wrong time !
Will wait to hear what happens with your babe.
