    Kittie litter

Oh Karen thats a classic,I will giggle my way up the road to work now....
I was lucky because where I get my chicken food from the breeder who suggested it goes there & the people also knew that I had MC's so they just said "For the cats" I said yes & left a queue of people wondering !

Is the chick/duck crumb flushable? I was planning on using World's Best for that reason when I finally get my MC in a year or so.

@ Karen - the litter tray we're using is 50 x 40 x 42 cm in size and is the Marchioro Cat Toilet. Its quite deep and apart from schrodie keeping getting his paw wet we dont have a problem with it, he likes to have a good dig inside too.

I spoke to our local pet store and they dont stock chicken/duck feed, though he can order some in - £10.50 for 20kg - he was asking what we currently use for our chickens and i had to tell him it was to use as cat litter.. silence ensued for a moment then we had a bit of a chuckle. He mentioned Cat's Best Öko Plus cat litter to try out.

I think it's supposed to be but I wouldn't chance it, so that maybe a drawback.

Ah, welcome to my world. Now you know why I go prepared with chicken names... I'm a Sci-Fi geek, so at any given moment I can talk about my six chickens... Baltar, Apollo, Starbuck, Caprica 6, Boomer and "The Old Man",,,

On a more serious note, that seems like a damn good price for a 20kg bag of crumb. I get a 5kg bag of chick crumb from PAH and it's roughly £6, and I can get my hands on a 20kg bag of duck and goose crumb for £15.

    Kittie Litter

My breeder friend who uses it always flushes it down the loo ,being tight & on a water meter mine is bagged & binned....
At the moment we can get 20kgs of pellets for 6.95 & 20kg of crumb hubby thinks is around 7.80 so makes up a fair few trays at a good price.

I've not tried the pellets - how do they compare to the crumb?

First night after using the oko plus, schrodo doesnt seem to mind it at all, though for some reason he now leaps straight over the mat we have in front of the tray. One thing i have noticed though is that he's had messy poo's (sorry if your reading while eating your breakfast), this may be from the half a worming tablet he had on Saturday (strange though that its only affecting him now if thats the case), anyhoo, both times he went yesterday he had the dreaded klingons (not a prob with the classic). Oko doesnt trap the smell in as much as the classic stuff i was using so the door has been placed back on the box.
