Thumbs up Your thoughts versus my vets..

Most of you know the tale about Corrigan... and the fact that she had kittens in 2010 around July... the fact there after well.. we all know.. we do not know these.. how many kittens did she had did/did they not die etc etc...

Anyway.. I went to my vets with her Friday for a check up... As Corrigan is not eating that much is still terrified of her own shadow... and I think suffering from depression... because of this issue with her kittens.... I have discussed her at length with my new vet she knows what happened...

Her advice which goes against everything I stand for is to let Corrigan have a litter... She thinks it will get her over the ordeal, make her eat more, and also give her back...what she lost...???

By allowing her to have a litter with an owner that loves her the way she should be loved and also shows 150% affection to her and to her kittens while she is with them.

I have put her on the pill.... but she still keeps calling... and I really do not want to up the dose.

I am not sure what to do... Mimi is looking amazing... she lives for the time being with Jet... she is healthy with a wonderful coat...

She advised me also to let her have some freedom outside this will take care of her very thin and short coat hopefully allowing it to thicken up( actually I had this advice from a fellow breeder too)

    Your thoughts please...

You and me too... But hey we will never get the truth so I have to move on... I have added this story on my facebook, and everyone across all breeds says its the best thing to let her have a litter of kittens...

Put the past behind and move on... and this Is what I think I will do..

I will wait however until I have another girl calling at the same time and then GOD forbid anything happens( which I doubt).... I will have more babies for her to adopt so she is not traumatised by this kind of experience again..

    Your thoughts

I bought a puppy from a puppy farm, lots of years ago & I should {did}know better but because I was heartbroken over the loss of one of our other dogs & this place was the only one that had a bitch of the breed I wanted I persuaded hubby that we could at least go & look & the outcome was obvious,I won't list the things the little one had wrong with her but my then boss said return her & get your money back,of course we didn't but we had on our hands a frightened little girl who only knew how to eat her own s**t,it took us nearly a month to get her to eat proper food, because her eyes were so sore it was a battle to clean them & I always felt that if someone had her who let her get away with things she would have ended up a biter because you had to be really firm to win with her, she was scared of her own shadow,I didn't intend breeding with her but the boss said it would be the best thing for her,in her case we crossed her with another smaller breed & on her first season {completely not my beliefs}she was mated, what a difference,I couldn't believe how it changed her into a happy, confident little girl who ate for England & never looked back, she was so proud of her babies,so I would say on this one,go with it....

Thank you... again another that think its the best for her..

I have really only had one previous experience with this.. and that was a kitten from us named Mrs Angry went from our home with a single wealthy lady in Harrogate... I thought this kitten would want for nothing what she forgot to mention was the man in her life. a spiteful jealous individual that beat the crap out of this kitten to the point that the woman phoned me and asked me if I would take her back!! I did but this abuse had been going on for months.. She even had the cheek to ask me for money when she returned her a sad sorry little girl... ( you can imagine what she got told).... Anyway we could not handle her she was almost Ferrel, and all my usual ways of calming her did not work, I mated her on advice and she had 8 beautiful kittens she changed in to this sweet mama... who loved us loved her kittens a none stop purring machine.. when the babies left she reverted to type.. and became ferrel again.. It was a shock to me, I had her mum and her grand mum and still to this day have one of her great great great granddaughters.. with the most amazing temperament such a shame, because we lived on a farm I spayed her and let her run loose... with the other cats on the farm.. and this is the only way she lived her life.. we saw her once a day when we fed her... and that was it.. Humans do so much damage to Animals..

But as I do believe in Karma... the person that did wrong to mine will come back as a cat in their next life and will be the one thats abused... PAY back is a bitch...

Hmm, I'm not sure I agree completely. You might also say that your poor abused cat was a horrible person in a previous life and so equally 'deserved' it. Perhaps this lady's karma/payback is her horrible boyfriend/partner.

Yes!!! Maybe it better to say that after all that would mean that she becomes one of her own defenseless animals.. Good Point well said!! I believe everyone who does wrong in life comes back until they get it right... so this person will have a lot of abusive partners!!

You would not believe the rubbish I heard because what I was fighting for was just a !!!!CAT!!!!

Basically they seem to have no rights what so ever, if it had been a dog I would have got it out of there or as you say a child... but A CAT... there are so many Animal lawyers that deal with dogs, Horses cattle etc etc... And although they gave me great advice, they will not take the case its only a CAT??

I do not know the story mentioned about a cat called coirgan I don't think my breeder friends would ever breed from a cat that had kittens only in July, they only breed one litter from one cat each year, what they do when their cats keep calling is just put up with it. Personally I find that noise quite dreadful to listen too almost sounds like they are in pain but then I don't breed and only have to listen to my friends cats.

I am a breeder and NO Normally I would not... EVER.. mate a cat that had just had kitten in July... but there is sadly a very horrible tale behind this girl based on well so many lies and tales... NO one can be sure what the truth is... Hence the question...

But on a whole.. a good friend and fellow Aby breeder gave me some advice which I have put in to play.. I have introduced her to my youngsters I am keeping this year, at the moment there are 5 of them and she is very happy taking care of them and playing with them.. I will then decided when the time come to do what is best for her...

I have tried to look on here for the story of carogan but cannot find it but I spoke to my friend again about this and she thinks maybe you are a new breeder and do not realise that this is not common practice and most breeders would never mate a cat within 3 mths of kittens no matter what, they are still healing within. Well I am learning a lot about breeding now and my friend is surprised at my sudden interest
