I thought only Arucard had this crazy thing to dig around his water bowl! I always wonder what on earth he is trying to do! Neither of my other cats does that, but he has always done it!

    Very!!

Our Mainecoons drink their water with their paws and eat their food with their paws too!! they constantly have to have their bib combed to stop it getting matted..

Those that do actually drink out of the water bowl dig on the floor while they are doing it its very comical to watch!

Ours don't play with the water but that may have something to do with they have had a fountain here since a couple of days after they came home so the water moves. however Hector paws the floor after eating for ages it seems - big paws on wood flooring = noisy!.
They have a hooded tray and they do paw and scrape at the hood for ages, Roxy seems to go into a trance as she is doing it and we have had to go and knock on the top of it to get her to stop! Before we had that tray they had a normal one and we had to give up on the tray liners as they used to paw and shred them to cover the tray.

We discovered when we got our new coon kitten that he loved the water...especially from his water bowl. He made a mess !! We ended up going to the local appliance store and bought a plastic liner that goes under a washing machine ($12.00) and use it for our cats food and water bowls. We put all weather mats at the bottom to soak up the water. It has worked great for us for the past 2 months or so !!

    I love all these photos.
Yes, Choo Choo does the same with water. When he first arrived he tried the bath and the fish pond, which I discovered by the watery trails and paw marks.

However, the love of his life is his pink plastic water bowl which is now named "Errol" after the noise Choo makes. He often drinks from the bowl in the kitchen, but Errol is an obsession. He will sit by Errol for hours, just gazing. Errol has a clear reservoir which Choo likes to tap to send up the bubbles. Or he digs around the base. Lately I have noticed him licking where the water comes out into the bowl, again to send up bubbles. When I come down in the morning, he charges past me into the hall to check Errol is OK, then walks back calmly, his world complete.
