Hmmmm? Most of what dad said is not repeatable here. Don't recollect mom saying any such.

my dad still says "do what I say, not what I do" - I've always done the last part and I'm all the better for it :-P

Alekto, oui, she was mad and would not look at me, she has gotten over it today!

Another favorite, "you can cry til the cows come home." Mom grew up on a farm, I grew up in the city, needless to say this did not translate well!

My Mums favourite was 'tell the truth and shame the devil' a maxim that I have held all through out my life, besides if you tell the truth then you dont need a good memory !!! lol My Dad on the other hand was more practical, he said 'if you earn 20 shillings and spend 19 you will always be happy, but if you earn 20 shillings and spend 21 you will always be sad' another maxim I can tell you is true ! Never really took notice of that till I was in my twenties !!! lol

Just remembered this one today '"Tough titty," said the kitty when the milk ran dry.' I laughed so hard, I was talking to Rex about his empty food dish hahahaha he is on a diet poor fat beagle
