New GCCF show structure
I agree with it being long overdue & that is the one thing I like about showing under FB you have to move up once your cat has gained that level, what were the people trying to prove by showing their cat at a level they had already obtained to most of them it was just another piece of paper, another thing I don't like about GCCF is how people "show their cats"under certain judges so only tend to pick out the ones that they know like their type of cat. With Tica because of having so many different judges on the day if one doesn't like your cat for some reason the chances are that another judge will so you are all equal,at FB you do not know who your judge is until the day so pot luck also the chances are that you can get a judge who has never been over here before so all is completely unbiased, another thing that I don't think GCCF is at the moment,it used to make me smile at the GCCF shows where everything has to be white so as not to be able to give anything away as to who the cat belongs too & a judge would come in & say hello to a regular & actually call the cat by name, makes a bit of a mockery of it all.
With FB once your cat has made it to the top you can go for Prize of Honour which in turn means it still has the chance to be chosen for BIS line up & does allow for the more mature cat to carry on showing which is great,Merlyn went back several months after becoming a European Premier so he could show the new babes how it was all done.... With all showing you get the days when you think a judge is talking from the backside or is looking at a completely different cat to what you are thats the fun of showing but it is a lot nicer doing it in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, knowing on the day what the judge likes or dislikes about your animal & being able to have a good moan with lots of others.I have to agree with Debbie {nothing to do with the problems she has had} but they would have to make a lot more changes for me to ever think about showing under that registration again.
