    Feline coronavirus (FoCV) is a virus that causes mild symptoms in most cats. Rarely, feline coronavirus can lead to feline infectious peritonitis is almost always fatal. The virus works by infecting the white blood cells. However, the vast majority of cats that contract feline coronavirus do not develop FIP.
