Thread: Thin cats?

    Can you remind us of her situation and how old you think she is? I would be somewhat concerned about a young, still growing cat truly losing weight. However, weighing animals precisely is difficult, so unless she was weighed both times at the vet, I doubt you can be absolutely certain her weight dropped. 10-11 lbs for a young female MC is certainly fine. I must also say that most vets are not too familiar with MCs, so don't always understand how they should be growing. I remember that when we took our first purebred MC kitten in one of our vets thought the breeder was lying about its age (due to the size). As far as I know, we are still the only client at our vet that has purebred MCs (the techs have told me that someone else claims to have a MC, but they say that if she could see ours, she would realize that she definitely does not have a true MC).
