Ever since we got Alfie he has been my 'shadow'. He is a mummys boy! The other two are just as bad and I can never visit the toilet without a furry companion to make sure I'm doing it right! Sometimes I feel like a bit of a cat-magnet. Wherever I am in the house they will all gravitate to that room and place themselves near me, on the arm of the sofa, next to me, by my feet. They are very nosy, but the house would be very boring without them

Lily follows me everywhere as well, not the husband, I seem to be the favourite, much to husbands disgust. The other one is the same, not shadowing, but she always comes to me
But he is not the one who feeds them and fusses them everytime they are within reach.
I am always cuddling, playing and fussing them

This is very funny! Maincoon taught moggies and led the pack. If you had moggies without Maincoon would they also follow you everywhere?
Thank you all for your funny stories. I want to think that coonies love us so much and try to never stay apart from their beloved mommies and daddies. Intense curiosity is probably the second reason for shadowing.

Schrödinger always makes sure he's in what ever room your in. bedroom, kitchen, sitting room.... toilet!!! he seems to get the grumps some times too as when he's trying to get some sleep and I move rooms he gets up, settles himself again in the next room then gives you the evil eye as if you did it on purpose
telling you, these cats have a serious OCD problem
Speaking of "helping". After getting the windows replaced and then the re-org of the bedroom after he helped by washing my hair (and swatting my head for imaginary flys) while i was cabling under the desk (with him on top of it)... what a guy!

Freyja and Wicca have to be in the same room as us, and you can see they're torn if me and OH are in two different rooms! Freyja tends to follow me more than OH though, especially if I head upstairs to read in bed. Wicca is the one that can't take a hint when you want some privacy, and you're treated to relentless scratching against the door to get in. She's either deliberately trying to drive us insane, or genuinely thinks that she'll eventually wear through the door...
When I'm trying to get ready for work in the morning, I boot both of them out the bedroom so I can get on in peace; when I open the door to grab my coat etc, I find the two of them sat right outside, up against the door, waiting for me.
And I can't remember the last time I could have a pee in peace without the MC chorus outside the bathroom door...

Or that you'll give in!
We have an older cat who will do the same thing -- but he was declawed. He's developed a technique of 'digging' at the door to make it rattle against the jamb.
If he gets too insistent, I grab the water bottle with the squirter, open the door, and see how many times I can squeeze the trigger.
