I have to agree with you, its a shame but some of the good breeders are going because the bad breeders flood the market the good breeders can not compete with someone who is churning out kittens from the same cats over and over again.. THEY do not have the same overheads as the rest of us!!
Its sad, and cutting corners should not be an option I register ALL of my kittens always have and always will... and the day I can not rear a kitten to the best of my ability like many I will also give up!!
Not sure about Palmaine, but the other two sit on their lazy backsides, doing nothing all day... well nothing productive that is just destructive!! And breed- breed- breed.
THE retiring age in the UK is 67 GET a job like the rest of us!! if you well enough to go and stand up at a 2 day show all day..... and live it up in a hotel etc etc you are well enough to go get a job!!

We lost ours :(
I had had two male kittens from her and had to hand them back after she found I was emigrating within 2years and told me she was taking me to court! She then told me I was not entitled to ship them to the states with me!! She offered to buy them back......came and took them and still owes me £400!!! Oh and guess what I NEVER got their paperwork after paying stupid money! I contacted the GCCF & they said they'd never been informed of the two litters that mine came from. I wasn't allowed to see the parents and I wasn't allowed to see their litter mates.....she brought one kitten at a time into a room for me to view!

you should have let her take you to court, from the look of this I don't think she would have as it would have cost her money - I would actually check with a lawyer if she's allowed to do that and take HER to court...
PS: I am so sorry you are going through that - I would be absolutely crushed if anyone tried to take my pirate! don't let her do that to you!

See, this is what terrifies me about finding a suitable breeder, I'd hate to end up getting a kitten from someone who wasn't breeding for the right reasons... Btw are you allowed to "name and shame" bad breeders on here? X

Yeah if they're doing something bad we name them and we explain what they do - if they're good too. But I don't think we would advise one breeder over another, that wouldn't be fair to the others I think.....
