I voted No, but its hard to tell. The colourings look about right, though the ears are not big enough, but some of the kits seem to have small lynx tips. The photo needs to be compared to others from the same era of clearly identified MCs, a great deal can change in a breed over 70 years and even though today's MCs are more natural than many other pedigree breeds, I'm sure there has been some modification.

No idea, but they look incredibly sweet. Are they definitely a pedigree - might they be a cross or moggie ..?

Although it did not appear on the cover of McCall until 1941 this picture was taken on 20th December 2008 by George Eastman House; and the model Joan Caulfield was allergic to cats

I also would they Persians.
As mentioned by Antonia, MC were not known breed in 1941 and NFC not known in the US.
