    Cat Claws

hi, i have got two kittens and i have a problem. They keep scratching and damaging my furniture. I recently bought a scratch post but it seems it isnt working. Can someone tell me any other ways to get them to stop damaging my furniture?

Keep the tips of their claws clipped & when they start using furniture as a scratching post pick them up tell them no & put them to where they can,if you didn't have the scratch post when they first came you have already got to re educate them, having more than one post could help & even covered in a different fabric as they may like the feel of one more than the other to claw at.I don't think any furniture can ever be 100% safe when you have cats but hopefully it can be pretty near, good luck with your babes & photos please...

Good advice, and you could also try along with the above, a cat attracting spray on the scratch post, like catnip spray, and a cat repelling spray on the furniture, like lemon juice possibly diluted with a drop of water? Or cover the furniture temporarily with something they cannot scratch, just while the training period is going on. Like a sheet of plastic film? Might not look great for a while, but better than shredded furniture.
