    I thought I'd ask the question to purina and the cat is a Maine Coon, so that answers that one !

    Tufts are a requirement in the GCCF standard
    Sorry--I misread your post. Thought you meant the (lynx) tips, since that is what appears to be missing on the cat in the Purina photo. Tufts refers to the hair inside the ear as I understand it, and that is a breed requirement in both CFA and TICA I believe (one calls this "furnishings" I think). I certainly see tufts (in ear hair) on the pictured cat. Plus as I said before, the same cat appears in the video and in that video you can very plainly see that there are lynx tips. Having tried to crop a cat out of a photo to be able to place him in another scene, I can attest to how difficult it is to retain the lynx tips.
